Storm The Stars has been a standout performer for notable British trainer William Haggas since first appearing on course competitively in late 2014; posting three wins and a further six minors through only eleven competitive appearances.

Undoubtedly reaching career-best form to date when charging home to finish an impressive fourth in the Group 1 Ladbrokes St Leger (2937m) at Doncaster last time out on September 12th, Waller told Sky Racing HQ he will likely set the four-year-old on a course towards The BMW (2400m), including an appearance in the 2016 Ranvet Stakes.

“He has some really good form and he is a very lightly-raced horse,” Waller said.

“We are just tossing up now whether he runs as early as the Chipping Norton and then goes to the Ranvet and possibly The BMW or whether he save him for the George Ryder and Queen Elizabeth.

“He is a very serious horse and we are just trying to work out how much speed he has got.

“We know he has stamina and we know these English horses can find speed in Australia, so that is the phase we are in at the moment.

“He could trial as early as the first of February, so you won’t have to wait too long to see him out in public.”

Storm The Stars resumed in 2015 for fifth in a minor over 2011m at Newmarket in April; progressing to success in the UK Racing Maiden Stakes (2009m) before running second in the Group 3 MBNA Chester Vase (2474m).

Returning to winning form in the Listed Cocked Hat Stakes (2212m) on May 22nd, Storm The Stars ran a pleasing third in the Group 1 Investec Derby (2423m), second in the Group 1 Irish Derby (2414m) and third in the Group 1 Grand Prix De Paris (2400m); taking out the Group 2 Great Voltigeur Stakes (2414m) in his only other start prior to the St Leger.
